Default What to do? Being "misquoted"

    Hey!

I don't know if I should report this to Betfair or not.
Here is what is happening to me right now:

Everytime I post at a Swedish forum about new offers and promotions at Betfair I get quoted by this same guy all the time.
Fine, getting quoted is flattering, BUT!

He quotes me and changes the betfair aff link. Every time!
When people clicks the "go to last post" they will of course see his post and click HIS link.

Should I report this guy to Betfair?

I know he owns vinnarspel.se and uses that aff link to betfair in the posts.
Vinnarspel is a pr0 and 6M alexa site with almost no links to the site, and I guess his only option to get players is changing my post links.

It's so annoying to see my links get changes time after time..

Christmas time or not, I will go ballistic on his a*s if he don't stop this.

Report him to the forum admins first. It's more of a forum problem than a betfair problem. He's not adding any value, they'll likely ban him or warn him.

So let me get this straight... you both are spamming a site owned by neither of you (or as I am sure you prefer to call it, helping the members of that forum) and because his spam tactics are slightly craftier than yours you want to "go ballistic" and also report this to Betfair?

Please post examples, because if what I said above is true then WTF do you expect the Betfair affiliate department to do? They should close down both of your accounts.

Please tell me I am confused by your post.

Hehe! Well, I might be just frustrated but the whole issue is that he steal my posts.

Terry, I have reported him to admins and moderators but with no action.

Graham, I'm not spamming, the forum is a closed forum and I'm allowed to post links there.

The thing is that this guy are using my posts and changes the link to his tracker link making it look like they go through my links even though they end up as his players.

An example, see the difference? (not an actual post)

Have you talked to this guy directly? Ask him to stop; you never know, it just might work.

I dont think BetFair will do much for you in this case.... As I find it hard to find that it is their problem....

Maybe its time to delete your posts from that forum so he does not get credit for any of your work and find some other forums where you may be able to post your information....

    Just a thought...

I'd try talking to your Betfair Affiliate manager - he / she may be able to have a word with this affiliate to ask him to stop doing this to you.

Granted it's not Betfair's problem persay - but they should at least try to help you alleviate the problem as it's starting to affect your working relationship with them as you can't continue to promote them effectively if this other guy is re-posting with his links. (stealing comissions)

It's just not professional - and maybe hte affiliate manager there can alleviate the issue by discussing with both parties impartially.

That's why I always say you should always build a good relationship with your AM it's times like these when you need them the most and a good working relationship will help you to alleviate issues such as this.

I've tried to talk to him without any luck.

However, the board admins and moderators have warned him and deleted his posts now.

I realise that it's not a Betfair issue, but if this affiliate is doing this to me he might be doing the same to others.
And imo that's not fair play or a behaviour an affiliate should use.
Sure there are bad affiliates who don't care what they do just to bring in players and a revenue.

I will mention this to Charlotte when I talk to her, I haven't done so yet since I wanted to hear your opinions here first.

But, the posts are removed and the guy is warned by the board admins now.
