    Default Stolen Content

    Hi all

As my site is quite new, I thought It may take a while before anything on my site would be seen let alone copied. So I thought I would check her first so you guys could just have a look at it for me, just so I am thinking this is correct.

This article is mine and was written by my article guy and is my copyright and I have not authorised anyone else to use it.

The page on my site is:

StilettoPoker ?its more than just a game! | UKPoker.co

    This now appears on:

    Stiletto Poker Bonus and Review

It has the same layout and headings to the review, though a few words have changed. Removed .com from domain name....

    See copyscape highlighted bits:

Copyscape Plagiarism Checker - View Content Comparison

As you can see from the source and found links (on copyscape) its pretty much the same, and also at the bottom of the there review says edited 3 days ago.

So, I assume my next move is to email him and demand he removes it?

    Thanks

    here the answer on it:

    Hi Scot,

I'm adding affiliates@xxx to this email to clear this issue.
So, If you want to try with DMCA, please do this with them.

I would not say scammed, I would say un-acceptable policy maybe - or as they put it "mix up".......

If you don't mind I would like to share my two cents here. This is a prime example of what could happen all to often when AM's give a webmaster a review and tell them is a unique review specifically for them.

I can't tell you how many times Am's have sent me reviews to add to our sites telling me these were special for me and only written for my sites. I turn around do copy scape a month later and 40 sites have the same review.

Its not cool and I wish more AM's would understand Duplicate material simply is not good. Its no good for the webmaster, its no good for the operator and its no good for the industry.

Most of the content on the sites won't be indexed anyway. And in some cases a possible penalty can happen.

This is why I express to some AM's that IT MUST BE ONE OF A KIND and if they pass it around to others I will remove mine.

Mostly its always best to write our own and be on the safe side and that way you know they are only being used by you.

    Well,

Where do I start, I don't want be horrible (its just not me), but I don't want to be nice either.

So firstly, this post here is where it should start:

    https://www.affiliateguarddog.com/for...ams-t3133.html

Right, well it started from my post 2 days ago regarding my stolen content or 'atolen' as I type it :

    https://www.affiliateguarddog.com/for...ent-t3277.html

Ok, so basically I found a site that had ripped of my review and posted it, I was not happy about it, and also not being in a great mood that day, I wrote an email demanding it be removed, maybe a little hard in the wording, but was in a bad mood anyway.

I posted here and at GPWA as the link above, I also in turn contacted the affiliate manager at the program to let them know, which they said they would look into it.

The other site who had my content then emailed me and told me that he was given this content by his account manager, *cough* spilt my drink was my reaction. I Skyped with them and told them what I found out and that this is not acceptable.

Heres the extract from our conversation:

    [18:27:19] Stiletto Poker: hi
[18:27:45] Scot Lester: is this the same person I spoke to earlier?
    [18:27:51] Stiletto Poker: yes
[18:27:56] Scot Lester: who is this?
[18:28:08] Stiletto Poker: its Stephanie from support
[18:28:34] Scot Lester: Hi, Stephanie, I have been emailing with the owner of the site who has copied my content
[18:30:06] Scot Lester: and he informs me that he got the content from ''##''' from you place, I am not happy with this at all, can you please see why this happened, as this is not an ethical thing to do.
[18:30:56] Stiletto Poker: I will tell the manager to speak to you directly...he should be here soon
[18:31:00] Stiletto Poker: will you be online?
[18:31:10] Scot Lester: I will be here yes, thanks
[18:31:21] Stiletto Poker: he should be here any minute
    [18:51:25] Stiletto Poker: hi scot
    [18:51:27] Stiletto Poker: its ';';';'#''#;
[18:51:45] Stiletto Poker: support just notified me that there are some issues with content and artices of stiletto
[18:52:51] Scot Lester: No, theres no issues of content with and articles of Stiletto, the issue is #';'#'#' has given another affiliate of yours my content to use on there website, with find completely wrong
[18:53:17] Scot Lester: sorry which I find completely wrong
    [18:53:23] Stiletto Poker: ok correct
[18:53:32] Stiletto Poker: did support notify you that we will check what happened
[18:53:42] Stiletto Poker: i assume that it was a mix up with our archive
[18:54:22] Scot Lester: They said they would find out what has happened, why would my article be on your archive?
[18:54:41] Stiletto Poker: all of the online atrticles on affilates are stored
[18:54:47] Stiletto Poker: of course they are realted to my company
[18:54:58] Stiletto Poker: so of course we store them for our record and for leagal reasons
I have not heard of another program doing this and even if they did which they would not, how did it get mixed up? I really don't believe this.

I then received an email this morning, subject: unacceptable behavioral, saying that I have put them and affiliates in bad light and basically remove all content relating to them and they are closing my account down.

Which I don't care about, as I was doing this today anyway.

Just to clarify, I have now sorting this out with the fellow affiliate in question and all is OK between us. and have said so in both forums. This affiliate did not steal my content.

I can only assume as I did not bad mouth Stiletto in any of my forum posts at all in any way, that one reason they mention about me putting them in a bad light (I repeat, which I cannot see anywhere) is that "maybe" something unethical may have been happening! but without knowing how things work in some places I cannot say it has or has not.

There is probably more, but I cannot be bothered with it now, so this is a warning to any affiliate wanting to deal with Stilettopoker, I am not saying don't deal with them, but if you don't want your unique content being archived with the chance of being "mixed" up with other content that maybe passed to other sites then I would make sure you check your dealings thoroughly.

So, I will not be dealing with them anymore this is just my view.

So the AM copied your review and then sent it to the other webmaster?

If that is the case - that's pretty sad.

Consider yourself lucky. With the response they gave you like that I would be happy at this point you got rid of them. That is just insane what they wrote back to you especially considering they are CONTENT THIEVES.

Such grossness. I have never heard of any program archiving and storing all webmasters reviews. Such idiocy.

They stole your content and an AM decided to give it to another webmaster - you caught them red handed and they got pissed off and ended your affiliate account. WOW!!

    LOL - be thankful!

If this is in fact true then this is rather bad, i would be very interested to see what Stileto poker have to say for themselves.

I have never heard of any program taking reviews of their products from webmaster, storing them and then somehow giving it to another webmaster, it is very unethical.

I have no reason to disbelieve the OP at all, but as we all know there are two sides to every story and from a PR perspective Stiletto need to make a statement, even if it is to plead mea culpa and promise never to do it again etc etc

I have heard of this before, and in fact we caught one doing it a few years back, but I haven't seen it in quite a while....

That's really bad and could have caused a lot of trouble between the two webmasters. If you can't provide unique content when asked then just say so, don't take it from someone else.

I had a friend once, who asked me for a loan, which of course I gave him. I never heard from him again. It was the best money I have ever spent.

You can consider yourself lucky you found out quite easily that you don't want to do business with them.

    Hi Steve,

    Nice to see you back

It just really annoys me when people steal content. I sometimes do unique content for webmasters (only for nice ones like you Steve!), and would not be impressed if someone just took it!
