Lightbulb Star Games offer CPA and No Revshare on Sign Up

In what must be a first for me , i was finally able to sign up to the Star Games Affiliate program and was puzzled that they offered only a CPA as a revenue option on sign up.

I put it on a back burner but was then contacted by a helpful program rep who asked if he could do anything to get going with me.

I asked him why there was no revshare option and was advised that it would be available only once my traffic was deemed to be acceptable by the program for the revshare option. Until then i would have to accept a CPA.

I was then offered an increase on the CPA and asked what the CPA actually is as it was not pointed out during sign up and the conditions for them were also not immediately visible.

I like Novomatic games and i am thankful that there is more than a single operator with them. I think that this tactic that Star Games has to offer a CPA first and then revshare is very short sighted.

Star Games you do know that it is not only operators who have marketing costs right ?

At this moment in time i am not willing to promote Star Games on this basis. The world has turned upside down in the case of Star Games. Do you think its correct for them to take this approach ?

I have aways found this to be extremely backwards from what it should be or what logic says is reasonable.

Since there is a GREAT deal more fraud with cpa then revshare it just doesn't make any sense.

Now if it was revshare only and then allowing affiliates to request cpa trackers after they have a history of generating traffic I could understand it.

With revshare, if the affiliates' players do not produce revenue (positive netwin) then the program loses exactly zero.

Thanks Universal , so glad to see that its not only myself that feels this way, I was only able to sign up to Star Games recently as i lived in a country where it was totally banned.I find it to be a very strange as you say that a CPA which is by far the riskier option is offered instead of revshare.

I wonder if the program is being very clever, they obviously have some idea what average player value is worth and are now wanting to pay CPAs hoping that it will all pan out and they make an even bigger profit.

That is to me the only logical explanation as to why an Affiliate program would want to offer a CPA rather than Revshare initially and then switch to revshare later.

Ive decided to avoid Star Games at this point in time as i am not happy with this.Pity as i could have added them in a good few places.

    Default CPA trigger

Yes, this is definitely weird. Does the CPA trigger on a single deposit?

Maybe they set it on a two deposit trigger.

usually affiliates starting out require CPA to get funded and then the move on to Revshare.

    .

Thanks for your statement on how things work , i've only been doing this for a few years now and didn't realise how far i can go with a €50 CPA

By the way the trigger for the CPA was as follows : After a player has reached a minimum deposit of 20 euro and 10 spins.

This is what i was advised by the polite AM at the program

    Hi Gman,

Like you mentioned we do offer every sign up to start on CPA, and then after a short review process we can switch you to Rev Share and also we can increase your CPA commission. I know this is a little bit different than other programs. But we do have other reasons for you to work with us, the Novomatic Slots now on mobile, multiple languages, new games every two weeks, our dedicated Affiliate Team and most importantly we pay affiliates on time, and we pay twice monthly. Because we do understand you have those marketing costs, we like to get you your commission back to you as quickly as possible, so you can reinvest and grow your business.

That is my honest answer and sometimes I come like I am doing a sales pitch...Only because I have been doing this a while.

    Have a great weekend!

    Good evening,

theGman is a a decent fellow, and I'll be happy, if he can leave the situation with any kind of advantage, peace in the heart or more.

Everybody knows, that my family would never work on a CPA base. Everyone is free in building a unique business philosophy, and as long as nobody will be robbed or cheated, I accept that.

I have never worked with Star Games Affiliates, because my target group are smart roulette players but want to put on the record, that Nicole is a honest and very friendly representative, and if I take a glance at some "Silver-Neighbors", then I don't regret one word that came from my pen about her company.

A picture is worth a thousand words.

    theGman is a decent fellow,
Thanks Roulette Zeitung and thanks Nicole for your response. I too have been doing this for a long time and this is the first time that i have registered with a company where a CPA has been mandatory to start of with, with not even an option of rev share. This is what i found kinda weird.

I have never heard of a CPA first and if you perform then rev share. Its always worked the other way around. Now im not asking you to supply the reasoning behind that approach ( you can if you want too ) but i for one think its rather odd.

I in no way want to cast aspersions as to the reputation of your company etc etc or throw stones etc etc, i just find that odd.

Why CPA first and then rev share ? To me the risk free approach is the other way around.
