Sports Interaction’s betting analyst Al Dannity breaks down the teams battling it out in the NFC South.

Four teams, four stories, four very different measures of success. Let’s start at the bottom with the Carolina Panthers. The one big hope for this organization is Cam Newton. The Heisman Trophy winner is a heck of a talent but even he can’t carry the Panthers to the playoffs this year. Instead NFL betting fans should look for Newton to bring this team forward, back towards respectability. I like Newton to bring hope back to Carolina but he won’t bring this team to the playoffs until a lot more help arrives in next year’s draft.

The Tampa Bay Bucs are hoping to avoid a slump after going so close to the post-season with a young team in 2010. It won’t be easy in this division, with two playoff teams from last season to contend with. There’s also the continued lack of big name stars to support Josh Freeman’s blossoming offense. Well that’s one problem that is about to get solved in a big way. The Bucs have to spend big in free agency to ensure they meet the NFL’s salary floor and that means the cavalry is on its way. Expect Tampa Bay to load up fast on top talent in virtually every department, ensuring they are meeting their obligations off the field while significantly boosting their prospects for success on it. If you are looking for a team on the rise to back, keep an eye on the Bucs?lines on Sports Interaction!

The Saints were America’s favorite other team. The team NFL fans rooted for, so long as it wasn’t their team. Given the circumstances it comes as no surprise but the honeymoon is over. Having won the Super Bowl and made it to the playoffs last year, the Saints are nobody’s lovable underdog anymore. That’s just fine with Drew Brees and company, having reloaded through the draft and re-upped Lance Moore before he could hit the open market. There will, it appears, be one notable absentee however as Reggie Bush is on his way out of New Orleans. Bush may not have been the star everyone expected but he was still a significant contributor. His replacement, Mark Ingram, comes to the Big Easy with a Heisman Trophy of his own. The Saints offense should be just fine.

Finally we come to the Falcons. This team is just plain loaded on offense and the defense continues to improve. The big priority for the Falcons is the re-sign their free agents so they can get ready for the big push to the next level. Matt Ryan has turned the NFL’s most inconsistent franchise into a team that can win year after year. Now he needs to turn the Falcons into legitimate playoff contenders. 2011 promises to be a big year for this division but especially for the Falcons.
