    Lightbulb Prize Competitions Website

    Hello everyone,

I have recently started a prize competitions website and was wondering if anyone has any experience they're willing to share to help us grow our userbase.

We are currently primarily using Facebook where we're relying on friends and family to share in order to outreach, have thought about procuring RMG approval in order to advertise on Facebook and/or Instagram, but have also heard that this is a headache, and that some users on this forum recommended Twitter, Tumblr, or LinkedIn instead.

We have also thought about using Google Ads or TikTok advertising (though from some terse research it seems gambling/gaming is prohibited to advertise).

    Does anyone have any advice?

    Thanks for reading!

Spend a bit of time reading through this section of the forum and you will see many threads discussing how facebook has closed pages and or sanctioned accounts.

In many states and countries, prize competitions type sites are treated in a similar manner to gambling since there is a prize of monetary value awarded.

Depending on your jurisdiction and the geo you are targeting may have an effect on the outcome of your actions with facebook etc.

You will likely get other suggestions.

I'm assuming you're running a pay to enter prize draw or raffle style site? It's a tough sector and one I see as taking a long time to become established. Growing your social media side of things seems to be a good idea - just by looking at the likes of Elite, McKinney, Bear and Bounty. You might want to look into how they've grown and see what you can emulate.
