    Default Our Tennis Website

    Hello everyone, good evening.

We have a relatively new tennis website that is ranking reasonably for a few of the terms around tennis and is in Google News as well. It's Tennis World Live dot com.

Would really be great to get a feedback on it, especially around monetization - getting registrations is an obvious effort, so was wondering if someone with a lot more experience could guide us about this.

    Thanks in advance!

Your site awesome, but... hxxp://tennisworldlive.com (xx replaces tt) does not redirect to hxxps://tennisworldlive.com.
The 2 url's will be consider as 2 separate sites by Google and other SE's. Which, means you risk being penalised for duplicate content.

You need to ensure all URL versions redirect (301) to hxxps://tennisworldlive.com, this also includes a redirect if a dedicated IP is used.

Also, your https is returning an error (yellow exclamation mark). Meaning, your serving both SSL (secure) and non SSL (unsecured) content. This usually always pertains to non SSL images. The htaccess code to fix this issue is below.

If your serving your images from a folder named "images", then you'd use the following htaccess code, and place this in your "images" folder. If your using another folder name for images served, then you'd change the htaccess code to this folder name. You'll need to add this code to every top-level-folder your using to server images from. Alternatively, change all your hard coded links serving your images to https.

    Code:
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} images
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://tennisworldlive.com/images/$1 [R,L]
Side note... Your not EU GDPR Data Compliant.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genera...ion_Regulation

Regardless if your an EU citizen or not, unless your site bans/blocks EU (including UK) totally, you must comply with the GDPR. I'm actually surprised your current affiliate programs you promote, haven't jumped all over you on this. Sites not complying have seen their affiliate accounts terminated. Given your on Google News etc., etc., I'd be fixing that up ASAP. Otherwise it could lead to legal ramifications.

Your right margin pop-up doesn't go away. No x (close) out of it.
Meaning you can't accept cookies as that button is behind.

Then another pop-up to do something else.

Try to clean this flow up it's a bit confusing.

Maybe just have people visit your site without all the extras.

BTW- Always looking for tennis affiliates join our program if you'd like: https://webpartners.co/

    Not UK accepting BTW.

    @AussieDave

Thank you very much for the suggestions. We have begun work on the data compliance pointer and should complete that soon. We will look into the rest of the issues with the technical team and hopefully see we can overcome them as well quickly.

Thank you very much for this. We have now removed the right-hand popup, something which has been pointed out by a few other people over emails.

Re your program, could you kindly tell me which markets does it cater to and whether it offers live streaming options?

Your site looks good and all of your news is up to date. As I was scrolling through your site, I suddenly got distracted by a pop up asking me to subscribe to your newsletter. There's nothing wrong with wanting people to subscribe to your newsletter, but the only issue is that it blocks you from reading through your site. I think you should remove this as a pop up and instead put it inside the menu drop down list, so it stays consistent in that way. I see that you've put a lot of work into your site, so well done!

Thanks for this advice and really glad you liked the content. We do understand that some readers might not like popups a lot and it's something we are conscious about...unfortunately, it's way tougher to get readers to sign up, having experimented with the subscription box at different places.

Bravo. The site looks very decent and with good value. By value I mean that all the news are up-to-date. Also I like the look like of an old newspaper or magazine.

I am basket and football fan, but tennis is also among my preferred sports. You put heart and knowledge on all of it.

Hats up from me. Keep up the good job. I am ok with the pop-ups and in 200 % I agree that you have to grab the attention of your customers/visitors.

Thanks a ton for your kind words

I am a reasonable soccer (football) follower too but quite apprehensive of the competition for that niche, which is why I stayed away from it.

Thanks again for everyone who gave a feedback here; as I had mentioned earlier, also wanted to understand a bit more about monetization. Any thoughts or comments on that for this site?

    Great website. So many features.

I notice you use banner ads. Do they convert well? I see other big websites use their own headings with text descriptions of offers.

May I ask how you get your images? Anywhere I have looked they are very expensive.

Nope, banner ads do nothing. Looking at other options, including the text descriptions of offers. We re-use the same stock images, free ones from Wiki etc.
