Newsletters - Send traffic to your site or to affiliate?

Hello,

I'd like to hear what is best in your experience - Is it adding links pointing back to your own site in the newsletters, or adding affiliate links directly?

If you have any good tips in general for increasing open and click rates for newsletters in the US, please share! Thank you.

There are many many reports about pages being removed, deleted, unpublished etc over the years.
The most common denominator is when users used too many links, or linked out to sites which moderators felt did not meet the standards. There are some situations when the content alone caused the issue.

When using it for links use caution. (there are many more found with different search terms)

There is not a straightforward answer to that question. In my experience, it depends on what you’re sharing in that specific newsletter and the profile of your readers.

When I write newsletters for my clients, my goals are:
Prevent readers from rushing to unsubscribe.
- Encourage readers to open the next newsletter.
- Strengthen their relationship with their readers.
- Drive traffic to their website or to click on a given affiliate link.

I only direct people to the website when there is information that would have been too long or irrelevant to include in the newsletter. If that’s not the case, I prefer to put the affiliate link directly. It’s annoying having to go to a website just to get one link; it’s an unnecessary step that can take a toll on your stats.

Do not use affiliate links in newsletters, but only directly to your site, or to a dedicated landing page on your site.

I speak from experience working with newsletters.

When you send affiliate links in newsletters, and at a certain point the filters of various mail servers decide that it is spam, the affiliate link address is also registered as spam, and this can be a big problem for the casino you are promoting.

I know from experience, that affiliate programs do not allow you to use a direct affiliate links in newsletters, because of the above issue. I suggest you check the terms of the affiliate program.
