Alright, very bad for paypal..., I would guess they'll probably upgrade the gambling payments system to check credit before the actual payment sent.

Here in the US when you spend money with PayPal and you do not have enough funds in your cash account, they take the funds from the "backup funding source" immediately. This can be a credit card or bank checking account.

Normally, this is done as an ACH transaction, and is usually instant.

In the US they also offer a "credit" account with prior approval titled "Bill Me Later" and when you use it the funds are released to the seller/merchant instantly, and you agree to their payback terms, similar to a consumer loan or credit card, with a few extra fees associated.

I do not know how this was done in this particular case, or what normal operating procedures are for other countries, such as Germany.

In the UK, I know that you can "make a payment" well above and beyond your PP balance and generally within two working days, the money is requested from your bank account. Sadly, this works even if the money is not there.

A large part of this industry is writing about gambling with absolutely no idea about the topic.
The result are more and more crap content.
Every week after searching Google for special keywords I see new websites with online casino banner and content, that is so idiotic, that only medicine can help.

Round about 30% of the new and some older still writing nonsense about Martingale progression and how good that progression works at online casino X, online casino Y and of course online casino Z.

I am warning since years on my Roulette newspaper that people should avoid playing this style as only system and that website owner who are promoting Martingale progression are not worth to stay one more second on the page.

If someone is selling cars, then he should have knowledge about the topic if he start a website.
The same with this industry, but making fast bucks [with crap] looks so nice.

Standard deviation is the key with any gambling math. A standard deviation of 3 or 4 is present every single day in every casino of the world all the time, every 2 or 3 hour with any combination of numbers. Also at Video Poker, Black Jack or Slots.

Martingale
One example

The probability, that Black hits at least one time in 20 spins at a single Zero table is 99.999837 %.
The probability, that Black does not hit in 20 spins is 0.000163 %.

Standard deviation of 4 is ubiquitous at a roulette table. So Red can hit 20 times in a row. You can wait as long as you want, there is no chance for Martingale in the long run. Even if the odds are only 0.000163 %, the player can be gunned down with the very first spins.

My opinion is, that every website owner who promotes the Martingale as a working system on his website is nothing but a scrub and place the players's life in jeopardy intentionally.

By the way: The probability, that Black does not hit in 10 spins at a single Zero table is 0.127502 and only a standard deviation of 3 is needed to gun down the player.

The last time Martingale variations for dozen or single numbers are on the air.
Because the Martingale rip-off with even chances is not working as good as in the past.
Players are no morons.
Even if some webmaster believe they are.

Regarding companies and everything that have to do with money, we Germans are very fussy. This is the reason why online casinos should not try to cheat players from Germany or try to take them for an idiot Also the thread of patience of German webmasters is not unlimited, and if we decide to declare a company idiotic or evil, then this decision normally is final.

The worst thing a company can do:

Great article. Leopold, thank you for sharing it and to Otto, thank you for taking the time to write it. There are several noteworthy items in that article. One of the biggest (in my mind) is the resurfacing of Lloyd Apter. For those who do not have memory such as mine, I'd like to remind you of something Lloyd said nearly three years ago to the date:

Kevin RC showed me the ropes and caf?shops

at my first conference in Amsterdam and from there started the greatest journey of new friends and new places – Vegas, Miami, Barca, London… and Marcia

joined so we were now a two people team.

The USA market closed and our advertising missed the boat – Europe is sports with casino inside, the USA is the opposite way round and advertising went off line and everything online became affiliates, but of course spiral missed this all... Despite this BS grew and grew and we made more friends and worked diligently.

We grew to a ten person team and delivered BY FAR most of the net revenues. Then there was the SEO CM fiasco and i stepped in and convinced management to bite the bullet, pull everyone, save face and move on and they did – always exciting and challenging

We then went on to win the casino affiliate and casino CM awards two years running – thanks very much CM!

With BS booming we attracted Erik Smith and unfortunately spiral messed it up big time, we tried in the end to fix what we could but I’m still very sorry about this…

They tried poker in France, mobile, etc… nothing worked and if it did, not for long. And then i brought in an amazing lead, from a very good colleague in the business, for a totally new related area of business, and this time i followed it through and made it happen, as if it was my own company, which it wasn't :P

Restructures and restructures and I stayed in the same position, until they brought in the advertising manager who had missed the USA shut down boat to manage me – OMG! How can someone manage you that doesn't understand or respect affiliates… “Tell %affilliatename% we accept the deal and A will change the reports” What!!!? I thought I didn't hear right?! Really... It became harder and harder internally... but i continued to protect the affiliates best interests because that was in the programs and companies best interest as well.

One of the big advantages of starting an affiliate program is that you understand the technical side as well... and i started get suspicious of possibly of btags changing, hell but aren't they encrypted by MG?! Well they are but you can have two databases… I asked around and made more enemies… hell i wasn't sure if this was a reporting issue/mistake or something else but i had worked for 4 years at Ernst & Young in JHB so auditing is what you do when something looks fishy, no?! That said a still love the old BS Team and I’m sure they still kiss ass... they should cause i trained them

But BS was now established and stable enough to remove me without much damage, and they did just that… *..*

I had started studying solar energy a few years back so i went full time into that but it takes time to getting something new going (we all know that!) and there are bills to pay… and as the world works i met this great guy Alex on FB

who offered me a part time remote position to work with a very impressive multilingual team in Tel Aviv so I grabbed the opportunity with both hands and I’m glad to be back

So today i work half my time in renewable energy (mega solar and wind projects, BIPV, e-mobility, laser wind testing, energy efficiency technology hydrogen development (!) all over the global, working with some of the biggest companies worldwide – BTW I am looking for partners especially in OZ, but all over as well – so please feel free to contact me [email protected]), and the other half my time is devoted to gaming and setting up a something that I can fully relate to…

Three years later, and similar is still playing out (with Betsson). Lloyd of course was talking from experience with Brightshare - but clearly similar things were going on there if he is taken at face value (he should be in my opinion). Add into the equation that Brightshare (a GPWA Gold Sponsor, sadly enough) is also having difficulty in both communicating with and paying out US Affiliates.

I think it is long past due that we begin holding programs accountable.

Ladrokes must stop operation in one of Germany's most populated state!

So many times in the past I wrote about the fact, that the so called "German license" from state "Schleswig-Holstein" ist nothing but a phantom-license.

Now first bullets and shells dropped in the territorial waters of the sportsbook industry.

Ladbrokes stopped all operation in Germany's State of "Hessen". Since 29. December 2015 no individual from Hessen is able to login or to register an account.

"Hessen" is on population place 5 of all 16 states here.
Over 6.000.000 people living there, more than 7% of all German people.

Ladbrokes owns the Schleswig-Holstein license, but as you can see, it's not worth the ink printed with if someone operates also outside of Schleswig-Holstein everywhere in Germany.

With a high degree of probability Ladbrokes received a warning letter from Hessian state government.

If that's the way this industry have to learn their lesson and if other states follow this path, then ... Good night!
