How To Tell If Your Theme Is Holding You Back

Whats up everybody, hope all has been good. A lot of other SEO's have told me my theme is holding me back, how can I tell for myself?

So, do they just say 'it's holding you back' and don't say why?

If that's the case...

If you're paying them, they're sh!t
If they're mates, it doesn't make sense (other than they don't really know and it's a guess)
If it's someone purporting to help you, then that help seems insufficient/inadequate

So, the main problem(s) you might have with a theme...

It's bloated/crap code and slows your pages down (Answer - run a speed test, and if it returns 20 or thereabouts you know it's a problem).
It's not mobile responsive (Answer - if you can't technically make it responsive, change theme)
It doesn't present information to visitors in an adequate way (answer - redesign/rearrange structure or change theme)
It doesn't present information to search engines adequately (unlikely, but possible. Would need an investigation to comment and decide what to do)

If it's not speed/load related, then most likely they mean it's not presenting info to visitors effectively. If you're confident the content is strong enough, then maybe try to look at it without attachment and through the eyes of a first-time visitor. Is it easy to read, find stuff, intuitive, structured well, got tables, images, ads don't interfere too much, etc etc

Look at other high-ranked sites and see how they present. You're in the US I'm guessing, so OUSC is probably a good one to look at (pm if you don't know who that is). Though any high-ranked sites (globally) will give a similar feel.

Likely you'd get better/more specific help/comments if you post it for review.

Thank you for the in-depth answer. It returns way over 20 but for everything else you mention, I have had everything else optimized. I know OUSC, and other larger sites like that, there themes are a much "better looking".

Based on the sites in your sig those are old flytonic themes, right? I'd personally change them. Flytonic was decent for what it was back in the day and Tom was a good guy but I think it was sold off many years ago and people were reporting issues with them.

Do yourself a favor, dump Flytonic ASAP and switch to something done by a respectable dev like Dinomatic.

Seems like many Webmasters are using or utilising Dinomatic.

Is there any other similar Plugin or Tool that is good for Online Casino themes? As I guess, Wordpress is the Tool to go for many.
