well done , Fruity is a decent program,.

On the other hand, it's interesting that companies which steal money from their affiliates (Expekt) are not only allowed to enter the contest, but they even have an affiliate manager in the shortlist! The same who promised me some deal 6 months ago and completely ignored me since then.

(nothing to do with Fruity Casa, I know. But this is just one reason why I don't take this "contest" seriously)

    anyway, good luck!

Thanks for your support and nice words

Sorry to hear you have issues with operator.. maybe your post will catch their attention and the attention of possible other affiliates with the same problem. Wish you luck in solving it! Nice that there are forums like this one, where you can say everything publicly.

Thanks again for wishing us luck

makes the whole thing a complete farce, expekt having a best affiliate manager, they never reply, beaffiliates, stole tons of affiliate accounts, oh and never reply.

bwin - best sports aff program lol, they are crap with terrible terms

one casino program nominated, they worked with hackers all the time

pokerstars listed as best poker - they also shut tons of accounts down and stole players

pkr did the same ages ago i believe but maybe wrong

also an aff manager listed who personally asked me to nominate for them and vote for them, so obviously did it to loads of others

    makes me chuckle every year

I was one of the judges this year - https://www.igbaffiliate.com/events/i...eawards/judges
Shortlisting is a result of nominations and decisions of judges listed, combined and held in rounds. I was judge Dredd, don't know for others.
Took this role pretty serious, glad that I see some names I put in a shortlists.

So, I don't know if this competition seems completely fair to some people, I was fair and objective at least

to be honest I don't care, makes no difference to my life at all and I don't know whether or not it is fair (or care), I can just see it is flawed, and flawed massively. As I said, how some of those are on shortlists is laughable

just for my personal opinion one of the judges, David Archer, should certainly be on the shortlist for best sports affiliate, and they ain't

btw, wasn't having a pop at the OP and their achievement of getting their nomination, just pointing out which ones make it a farce

iGB's have shown a willingness to allow ANY program into their conference as long as they are paid (in advance) ...
No matter how rogue they are behaving in the community (black hat SEO, hacker affiliates, 5% rev-share deals)

Accordingly I have no interest in an iGB backed opinion of the industry landscape.

Default How much does an iGB Award cost?

Wowzer, anyone checked out the shortlist? Only checking "best newcomer" section as Slots Guide has had a load of buzz and a good few nominations from respected sources.

Unfortunately didnt make the last 7 but with thousands of nee sites out there it would be no shame in losing out to sites run by a dozen employees.

But my god what a steaming pile of dog turds made it onto the list. Come on guys seriously. Don't bother even having awards if you cant vote honest winners. There must be hundreds of sites better than the crap shortlisted.

I could say the same about the other categories too actually. This year was about momentum was it haha. No like with everything else it was just about who bribed the most.

Then again what would one expect from iGB? Half the affiliates they promote are rogues.

This industry is an absolute joke at times. So what are we supposed to do? Play the game, bribe and ass kiss 24/7?

Sorry guys, money is not that important thatI would sell my soul to the devil and sacrifice all dignity just for a bit of marketing.

What are the rest of you going to do? Play the game and be a sell out? Or do you all have the balls to stand up and say NO to rogue casinos stealing our reders money? NO to bogus watchdogs? NO to rogue affiliate programs? NO to bribed award ceremonies? NO to cartel owned marketing systems. NO to always playing second fiddle and letting the top 0.1% of affiliates take home 99.9% of the spoils whilst giving **** all user experience and honesty.

    POWER TO THE POEPLE!!!

It's amazing the amount of shoddy programs listed. Pokerstars stole from 1,000s of affiliates a short while back, not to mention bwin etc.
Won't be surprised if skybet made a late entry and won

    Congrats Jelena

I think it's really nice to be on these shortlists and to win an award makes you feel great.
I know Alex is trying really hard to change the awards to make them more transparent, but I have to say that when I saw these shortlists I immediately thought that "momentum" was at the back of the judges minds.

Like Jelena, I take the judging job quite seriously because I want the people who deserve these to actually win. When you see people on those lists who have done nothing differently this year than any other year, you gotta wonder wtf. It makes me think the judges just chose who they liked, who they worked with, rather than actually did some research to choose the person who actually fit the criteria. For this reason I think having any kind of judges will always make it flawed.

It is what it is though. I don't think anyone is ever going to be happy, so I'd rather just hope the best of the shortlists who meet the criteria actually wins the awards.

Good luck to everyone on the lists

Congrats and I think Fruity Casa and Fruity Affiliates deserve their nomination.

But, seeing other nominations I think this election is crap and a joke. It seem to be some incrowd party. Important for a few crappy programs that dominate the nominations and irrelevant for everyone else.

Congrats! Out of curiosity. When a company is shortlisted, do you have to pay a fee to IGB? In other words; how does this award event earn money and how objective is it? Thanks for the insight.

    Hello guys,

    Ali from Expekt here.

I am not really active on this forum but I have been told about this post by an ex colleague of mine so I said better to say few words.

First of all, thanks for all affiliates who have voted for me personally and to the affiliate program. And no, companies do not pay a fee to IGB. In my 9 years experience in the affiliate business, I never heard anyone paying such a fee to get nominated.

With regards to comments from Casadeapostas :

1- Expekt not paying to affiliates ? : I have been at Expekt for 1 year and it is no secret the affiliate program did not have the best reputation due to some mistreatment of some affiliates in the past years under previous managements. I took this role knowing about this and with the intention to change this image completely and if affiliates voted in favour of us in only 1 year, this means we did a good job. If you can find 1 post about a mistreatment or not paying an affiliate on time in 2015, please enlight me and I will solve it immediately.

2- About a deal I promised to him 6 months ago : I don't want to go into detail due to confidentiality about this as it's between me and him ( I have just skyped him to explain about this after this GPWA message) - This was due to a certain brand with in our group but under different identity and due to their decision leaving Portugal and I offered to help out with a good favour for him but unfortunately this is still on hold due to the complex regulatory issues we are facing with the Portugal gaming laws and we need more time to help him out. I will do all my best to help him out regardless his comments , I can tell you that. However it is not an affiliate department task , much more complicated with legal, compliance involved.

Hope this clarifies the issue - let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

    And Congrats to Jelena

Ali, I have nothing personal against you but let me clarify the situation a little more: it was not a favour AT ALL!

The situation is simple: a brand from the group decided to close their site to portuguese players long before the legislation was published. It was simply a commercial decision. At the same time, they did a smart move: they told all players to migrate their accounts to another site. That site was operating normally until September or so, the group kept making a profit with all those players, but didn't pay one cent to the affiliates who promoted the "old" brand. I had a decent database there, about 2500 players, and I obviously complained. They promised to fix my personal situation, but they didn't. 9 months have passed and now it's completely useless to do anything, because those players are probably inactive, or at least a big part of them.

I thought it was important to explain how things happened. Now we have the problem with the legislation but at that time, we didn't. So let's not use the legislation as a convenient excuse.
