Hey guys

This happens occasionally but today whenever I go to Forums > New Posts, then click on page 2, it tells me there are no new posts and to adjust my search terms. If I go to Forums > Today's Posts and click Page 2, same thing.

Is there any way to show me any thread that I have not read or any thread where i have unread posts rather than rely on cache/login times or whatever it relies on? Looking at "new posts" is far quicker than going into each forum individually to see what I haven't read yet, especially if I'm not here for a while.

I normally use the Today's post function (similar to "new posts"), and can easily see what is new or unread but the posts that show as bold and have not seen any issues that I recall in recent times where there are errors on the page 2 link.

I just tried it in a different tab and it seems to work correctly for me.

Maybe it is just a corrupted cookie?? To reset your cookie perform the following

Log out of the forum by clicking log out link at top left (just under the GPWA Logo)
Close the browser completely
Return to the forum home page and log back in (be sure to check the tick box for "Remember Me")

This will write a new browser cookie

I am not sure this will fix the issue, but it may

If this continues, let me know and we can get Alan or Steve to try it from the office to see if we can re-create the error.

It usually only happens on one day then the next day it's totally fine. Like today, it's working completely fine. But there are likely unread threads I havent seen because the forum marked them as read for me since my last visit. Other forums seem to be able to handle the unread threads completely fine. CM for example when clicking new posts shows any i haven't read with a separator telling me that the ones below the line are not new since my last visit, but have unread posts in them. At AGD I can select recent posts and it will show me everything in order of last posted so then I can choose which to read. I only seem to have issues here.

The new posts button is far more important for me since I'm not here every day.

Thanks for the explanation,

We have a handful of customized plugins which may or may not affect this.

Has this been happening for a long time or did it seem to start recently, and if so an approximate time frame?

The more information we have the better we might be able to pin down the cause.

Anyone else here see the same kind of error?

It happens randomly and has been happening for years. I also notice that if I have the recent posts page open, then go to look at something else (or read a post on GPWA) and come back to press page 2 it does it too.

Usually I just say oh well, but I think yesterday I was in a bad enough mood for it to make me angry enough to mention it.

If you thanked a lot of times, the number goes outside the frame. This should be fixed too.

Also the other problem is when I click on “Today’s Posts” and I’m viewing it from my mobile phone is that I can’t read the entire text of the forum entitled “Programas de Afiliación de Casinos (Spanish)”. The writing extends outside of the border.

This has started magically happening again for me today. Regardless whether I do New Posts or Today's Posts, the second page tells me "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

Hmmm ok, when you see that, consider doing the today's posts again, then trying page 2.

I am not sure this is what is happening, but I do know that the search provided (searchid=9680166) in your example, is a time limited search and does expire although in normal circumstances it should stay active ling enough to see the page 1 posts before moving on to page 2, so one thing you can try is to perform the search again, (it will likely provide a new search id) then go to page 2

If we cane determine that is what is happening maybe we can get the tech's to see if it is possible to extend the session time a little.

I got the exact same thing if I tried Today's Posts Page 2 after that happens. Told me Sorry no matches etc.

I tried the search again on both New Posts and Today's Posts, then pressed page 2 immediately, same thing - the link I pasted was from that test for New Posts. So for some reason even a 1 second wait makes the link expire.

I just tested it again (40 mins later, same browser session), and now it's working as it should.

I'm stumped :/

I'm on Firefox 60.0.1 (64-bit) - I literally only use this browser for forums.

I just updated to 67.0.4 although I can't see where the issue you see is directly related to your browser.

You should check if the problem persists when you're out of Oz.

Because I suspect that, since you're on the wrong side of the planet, Page 2 actually goes the other way, to Page 0, so of course there are no new posts.

This is funny. I gave up on New Posts so long ago can't even recall exactly when. Only get anywhere with Today's Posts.

And all of a sudden New Posts is giving me something. Never mind, lol...
