Does your site have a mobile version?
If not, do you even have a section on your site dedicated to mobile casinos?
Yes
No, but it has a section on mobile gaming sites
No

No and no for me I'm afraid but I do feel it's something I seriously need to consider. I need to research things a little first though, as I'm not sure where to start!
If I reformatted a current site to look good in any browser with automatic display resizing, does that constitute a mobile site? Would Google, etc, treat it as such?
Hi Yakir
Yes, in fact I dedicated quite a few pages on my main project to mobile casino specific offers. It's a shame though that the site itself is not responsive...
Anyway, I guess it should be somewhere on every affiliates' to-do list. From what you hear and read, mobile will overtake desktop in the next two(ish) years in terms of access.
Doolally, if you'll manage to make your existing site responsive, am sure you'll reap the profits in the future. From what I know, reformatting your current site with automatic display resizing should do the job. Then again, in the search engines' eyes it may still not be considered a fully mobile friendly site. For example, when you navigate through a sites' sub-menus on a mobile, these are being interpreted through the actual mobile interface and not directly on the site… if that makes any sense. No idea how to set it up either...
Also, I think the trend is moving away form having a separate 'm.whatever' site, instead cutting down on work and making the main site fully responsive. Easier said than done maybe, but then again there are a few good free templates on the official Word Press site that are already laid out to display well on mobile devices.
Hope that helps a little

I try to make my sites using responsive design where possible. It requires a lot more upfront thought and planning on how to present the data but I think in the long run it should pay off. Not all content lends itself well the this style of layout, something as simple as a table with several wide columns can ruin your sites aesthetics on a smaller device. With any luck, technology and improved best practices will make this less of a pain in the future.

Not yet, I have to figure out a way to make it. I'm not sure if any of you guys and gals use Godaddy for hosting. In the deluxe plan there is a new feature that supposedly makes the sites mobile ready. I'm not sure if it installs a subdomain such as m.myurl.com.
If anyone has used Godaddy for this, I would love to hear feedback.

Mobile convertions in our industry are nothing. Of course I`m not saying it`s bad to have a mobile version, and it`s certaintly great to be ahead of the trend, but one needs first to have everything put in order on desktop version.

That is true. I see a lot of people moving to promoting mobile apps. I don't know what the benefit they have since most of the traffic (at least on my sites) come from desktops/laptops. It almost seems like a sites designed for mobile just promoting apps is too specific of a niche to be in.

Firefox has a built in responsive design viewer. I'm not sure how good it is but here is the link

Looking at the overall trend, mobile conversions are still a bit lower than online but have dramatically improved year over year as people get more comfortable registering and depositing on their phones and brands get smarter about their landing pages and conversion funnel.Mobile convertions in our industry are nothing
Interestingly, in terms of player value, some sportsbooks are actually seeing a HIGHER player value for players that register from their mobile vs. those that register online. In casino online players are still worth more but the gap is closing.
I would argue that if you're not already ranking for mobile keywords and offering a mobile version of your site, you might want to think hard about whether it's worth making the move or not. Some experts are arguing that the term "mobile" may already have reached it's peak as more and more sites are looking to create a seamless experience across all platforms (PC-Tablet-Mobile), such that in a few years the assumption will be that most products and services will be perfectly mobile friendly such that users will no longer search for "mobile _____" but rather just search for "_____" on whatever device they are using.
For sure there's at least a few good years left on the term though and in the meantime users are definitely looking for mobile gaming options, and brands are increasingly able to convert and retain these users and pay good money for them.
Here is one reason why your site should be mobile friendly

Yes we have a mobile version of the site, we use a php script to detect mobile traffic which is then redirected to our mobile subdomain. It was one of the best decisions we made and it converts very well. One thing I would say to anyone "against" the idea is to check your traffic and filter how many users are on a mobile device, if you see a big number (like we did), go for it. Just make sure that your brands are also mobile ready and most importantly TRACKING. You don't want to give away free traffic.
Your sites (at least those in your signature) seem to be targeting American traffic, so it could be that Americans, knowing that it is more difficult to bet online, don't bother trying to do a more difficult task using their phone. I also expect that they don't associate gambling with their mobile devices yet, whereas in the UK, most operators are advertising their mobile products above the line and as such, consumers associate mobile with gambling a lot more.

Thank you, those look like good options! I am not quite ready to make a mobile version but I am going to want to in a few months. Do these sites provide a php script that redirects the traffic to m.url.com?

Well with the size of the new mobile devices, sometimes a mobile version is totally inappropriate. I believe there are responsive mobile themes that get the size of the monitor, but I used to have a much simpler one. People on tablets complained as the site detected them as mobile users (why wouldn't it), but the theme was more for a phone or something small.
They'd had no problem viewing the real version with that 10' screen.
I see what you're saying, it's very difficult to get the right balance for every device. Long gone are the days when we only had to worry about the size of a monitor. What is the best method, I have come up with anyway, is to have a responsive theme. But imo a responsive theme doesn't really cut the mustard on a mobile. So have a detection script to redirect mobile traffic. Some detection scripts are so advanced now, that you can specify to redirect only mobiles and not tablets.
But this way my mobile users are happy, my tablet users are happy and so too are my desktop users.
We have a limited mobile version for our main international site. However, we're coming out with a comprehensive version in the next month. Can't wait to launch!
