Money can buy you a sponsorship almost anywhere.

However, I am pretty sure you wont last much longer on this board!

The Bewinners affiliate terms are predatory. I have asked my aff. manager to tell me how you can just change the terms retroactively, but even though weeks have passed, I have not received an answer.

Driving Bwin off this board is counter productive

For starters there are affiliates that still use Bwin and will continue to use Bwin and may have questions for them.

Second if you drive them of this board then you will not have an outlet to openly discuss with them what they have done with their affiliate program.

Thirdly if you do succeed in driving them from this board they will hardly be willing to listen to affiliates any further will they?

The GAU has a poll, people are speaking with them in Budapest, the AGD, APCW and others are all reacting, there is dialogue going on and that has far better chance of getting the desired outcome if we have a Bwin prescence on here.

Finally the GPWA is a forum for webmasters and some may have valid questions of Bwin but i expect some of them dare not ask in public for fear of what other webmasters may think or say to them, in this regards attacking Bwin in every thread they open up does a disservice to other webmasters.

And before anyone says it is a disservice to webmasters not to warn them about Bwin, i think you will find there are enough threads on here and other forums outlining what they have done, i doubt any new member on here would be unaware of what has transpired.

IMO most webmasters do not perform such an indepth research but sign up, promote and complain later. They think the name bwin is reputable if they sponsor major events.

Thirdly if you do succeed in driving them from this board they will hardly be willing to listen to affiliates any further will they?
True, but the forum usually stays open for discussion.
BTW are they listening now to complaints? IMHO No !

What reasons are there for a program to shave their partners in such a harsh way if not for their own benefit to beat you as a webmaster (think of that as they probably do not need our services in the future).

What if your rev. share plunges to 5% and all your players disappear after a certain period of time, are you that comfortable with that or do you have media buys?

I dont have sympathy for webmasters that do not do their due dilligence, sorry, but thats how i see it, no one should ever go in to any business without checking everything out.

We dont know that as a fact thats an assumption, for allw e know they are listening and have no idea what to do next, i dont know, none of us do and yes the forum is open for discussion, i dont disagree with that at all, but every post they do is getting attacked no matter what the subject and i stated why i think that is wrong.

No good reason at all, however i think it is a bit of a jump to think that Bwin are doing this deliberately to beat the webmaster when they just opened up a new affiliate back end, makes no sense, if anything this is poor judgement and inexperience.

What if your rev. share plunges to 5% and all your players disappear after a certain period of time, are you that comfortable with that or do you have media buys?

As it happens i do not have any media buys with Bwin and yes my rev share on some players has dropped i assume, but what has that got to do with anything?

Therein lies the problem for webmasters that want to still work with Bwin, they will be afraid to voice an opinion or state a point of view for fear of being branded as someone that does media deals and that is why they have a particular opinion.

If webmasters want to work with Bwin, i have no problem at all with that, i don't care if they have media deals either and i will take their opinions at face value.

Do i agree with what Bwin have done? no i do not, i have told them so, but jumping in on every single thread attacking them and putting webmasters off that do want to work with them or continue to work with them despite the publicity is their choice and it is wrong if other webmasters attack them for that or make remarks full of innuendo.

Do i think Bwin deserve the bad publicity, yes i do, do i think that the campaign for the most part is correct? yes i do, although i have some reservations,

But please, just because i have an alternative opinion on certain aspects does not mean that i have an ulterior motive.

That said would i do a media deal with Bwin, yeah i reckon, as long as they don't screw players i probably would, will i promote them actively with the current terms and conditions, hell no.

No need to bash me here. I think you misunderstood me a bit. In hinsight, I can see why, but me initial point was merely to draw attention to the akward choice of words "bwin appointed as [...] sponsor". The last phrase of my post was meant as a direct message to Bewinners, because they haven't replied to my complaint about their retroactive change of terms.

I don't have the power to drive anyone of this board, but I am hoping GPWA is considering their "appointment" of a sponsor that changes affiliate terms retroactively. That's why I wrote; "Money can buy you a sponsorship almost anywhere.". YEAH!!

Not bashing you PJotter, far from it

All i was doing was expressing my own opinion that it is better to have Bwin in the "circle" talking rather than outside with no communication.

Bewinners have brought this on themselves and there are enough campaigns in full flight against them, but there are still affiliates that remain loyal to them and they need an outlet as well.

Anyway no hard feelings at all Pjotter
