Default Betfred potentially cross promoting to mobibet without credit

The withdrawal of Betfred from a number of countries has already been mentioned in this thread but there's a concern about untagged cross promotion to mobibet that's appeared over on AGD that I felt deserved it's own thread.

Basically it has been reported that Betfred are saying the following to the players whose accounts they've closed:

"Whilst we are no longer able to hold accounts for residents of your country, you are able to sign up with our partner Mobibet (link) , where you will receive the following Welcome Offer:

Mobibet Welcome Offer; 100% up to 150 euro"
When questioned about the cross promotion, an Active Wins rep said:

Unfortunately you will not be credited for players referred by Betfred as mobibet is an independent company. However, mobibet is part of the ActiveWins programme and we encourage you to send the traffic that Betfred no longer accept to mobibet, as they trade in the majority of the countries that Betfred no longer do. mobibet also offer some of the highest odds in Europe and have Casino and Sports betting lobbies for both web and mobile users. If you would be interested in promoting mobibet or require more details, please inbox me or contact your affiliate manager on hi[@]activewins[dot]com.
If that message is in fact being sent to affiliate-tagged players either via email, or on the betfred website, then you need to give credit to the affiliate. If you can't give credit, then don't cross promote these players.

I've asked for further clarification on the AGD thread, but could we also please have an official statement on GPWA from Active Wins about this as to me it's a fairly serious matter.

Thanks for the explanation of your findings baldidiot.

They are taking our players/traffic and providing THEIR OWN affiliate/direct links to OUR traffic.

    NOT cool.

That's very underhand by ActiveWins - particularly without notification.
I'll add in a geo-test to my redirect then - no more non-UK/Irish traffic to Betfred.

They probably had little online traffic to BetFred and in order to startup Mobibet they did a grandprive.

This is a crime (stealing), GPWA should act and remove this sponsor as they clearly have chosen to join the rogues.

If this is true I would find it very concerning, especially considering they've been pushing to get Mobibet listed on ThePOGG since the start of the year and I'm about to start adding new casinos again at the start of July. I don't promote Betfred due to the Spielo G2 thing from 2012, but cross promotion without credit certainly qualifies as unethical business practice.

On that note does anyone know if Aaron is still the CM at Betfred? It's been a while since I last spoke to him but he hasn't responded to a recent email.

Glad I dropped these jokers months ago! Blatant cross-promotion is GUARANTEED to kill your affiliate program. Why don't these people learn? If I were someone employed by Betfred I'd be seriously concerned that such practices relating to other companies were hurting my own brand, or perhaps Betfred have something to do with Mobibet anyway, so it's in their own interest. I don't think so, so if I were employing ActiveWins to run my affiliate program I'd be seriously questioning these practices now!

ActiveWins have given us negative chargebacks for the LAST 9 MONTHS now, even though we've not promoted them since January, hence we don't promote them https://www.wmcash24.com/forum/activewin...ks-216126.html

Good on you Gooner. The more big affiliates that take action on practices like this the better. Arrogant programs who think they can get away with practices like this will then realise that referring a few players onto another brand vs people walking away from all the brands you manage for key geo-targets will hit them where it hurts.

Don't know how this cross promotion happened, but if it was a structured management decision rather than some individual trying to make a quick buck, it's a pretty naive one. As you'll know cross promotion is up there as one of the biggest NO NOs for any affiliate program.

This site even calling Mobibet a "scam". Apparently near on impossible to rollover the requirement to claim the free bet:
