(This interview was originally published in the November 2023 issue of the GPWA Times Magazine.)

How and when did you start your site btcgosu.com?
In 2020, I embarked on a crypto journey and stumbled upon bitcointalk.org's extensive gambling section. The lack of trustworthy info in the crypto gambling realm inspired me to create btcgosu.com. I thought, "Why not give crypto gamblers a dependable resource?" So, I did.

    What does BTCGOSU stand for?
BTCGOSU takes its name from the Korean word "Gosu," signifying excellence in e-gaming. We're all about being experts in Bitcoin and crypto gambling, helping players find the best experiences.

How did you get drawn into the cryptocurrency industry?
I became drawn into the cryptocurrency industry in 2019 when I first discovered cryptocurrencies and started exploring their potential. It was during this time that I stumbled upon bitcointalk.org, which is one of the largest and most influential cryptocurrency forums in the world. This forum had a significant section dedicated to cryptocurrency gambling, and I found myself increasingly intrigued by the intersection of cryptocurrencies and online betting.

As I delved deeper into the world of cryptocurrencies and learned about blockchain technology, I became fascinated by the principles of decentralization, transparency, and security that underpin this innovative field. I also recognized the immense potential of cryptocurrencies in revolutionizing various industries, including finance and online gaming.

The crypto gambling space, in particular, caught my attention due to its unique challenges and opportunities. Given the relatively nascent state of the industry at that time, trust and transparency were critical concerns for both players and operators. It became evident to me that there was a need for a reliable and unbiased source of information for crypto gamblers.

Motivated by these insights, I decided to combine my passion for cryptocurrencies with my desire to create a valuable resource for the crypto gambling community. This led to the launch of BTCGOSU in 2020, where I could provide players with honest reviews, guides, and insights while promoting trust and fairness in the crypto gambling ecosystem.

Since then, I've remained actively involved in the cryptocurrency industry, continuously learning and contributing to its growth.

What did you do prior to getting into the crypto and gambling industry and how did those experiences help shape your trajectory to where you are today?
I worked in corporate customer service—a world apart from my current gig. But those skills in communication and problem-solving came in handy. Before BTCGOSU, I helped translate crypto websites and dabbled in marketing on bitcointalk.

What are some of the biggest myths or misconceptions about crypto casinos and crypto in general?
A common myth is that crypto is fully anonymous — it's not. Another is that all crypto casinos are unregulated, which isn't true. And many think crypto gambling is a rollercoaster; it can be, but the speed and lower fees often make it worthwhile.

Your site features a blog section that is updated daily. How do manage the content and how important is having fresh content on an affiliate website?
We carefully plan our content strategy, create quality posts, and optimize for SEO. Fresh content keeps users engaged, helps with SEO, and establishes our authority. It's a big deal in the affiliate world.

Do you have any staff members or do you use any freelancers?
I'm a one-man show, but I collaborate with freelancers for content creation. The crypto community, especially Bitcointalk, has been incredibly supportive.

You also offer a GOSU newsletter? How often is the newsletter sent out and how effective is it for attracting traffic to your site?
Our newsletter's potential hasn't been fully realized yet. We have many subscribers, but we're working on improving its frequency and content. Newsletters are a powerful tool for engagement and traffic.

What is your approach to SEO? What work do you put in to continue to develop your SEO strategy?
Our approach to SEO at BTCGOSU is primarily centered on delivering the best possible information and value to our users. While we recognize the importance of SEO in reaching a wider audience, our primary focus is on providing comprehensive and honest guides, reviews, and resources related to crypto gambling.

We believe that by offering high-quality content that genuinely helps our users make informed decisions in the world of crypto gambling, we can build trust and credibility in our niche. Our users' satisfaction and trust are paramount to us. That said, of course, we follow SEO best practices too.

Our commitment to continually developing our SEO strategy involves staying updated on industry trends, analyzing user feedback, and adapting our content to meet the evolving needs of our audience. We believe that a user-first approach ultimately leads to long-term success in both SEO and user engagement.

Your site offers a third-party Provably Fair technology, which enables players to verify bets and ensure they are not manipulated. What made you add this to your site? How does this technology work?
We added the third-party Provably Fair technology to BTCGOSU because we understand that trust and fairness are paramount in the world of online gambling, especially when it comes to cryptocurrency-based casinos. The technology is designed to offer players an additional layer of transparency and confidence in the games they play.

Provably Fair technology works by allowing players to independently verify the fairness of each game round's outcome. Here's how it typically works:

Seed Generation: The online casino generates a random server seed, which is kept secret.

Client Seed: The player generates a random client seed, which is also kept secret. This seed can be set or changed by the player.

Game Outcome: The game is played using these seeds to determine the outcome. The server seed and client seed are used as inputs to a provably fair algorithm that produces a game result, such as a card draw or a dice roll.

Revealing the Seeds: After the game, the server seed is revealed to the player. This allows the player to verify that the outcome was indeed determined using the random seeds and wasn't manipulated.

Verification: By inputting the server seed, client seed, and game result into a verification tool provided by the casino, the player can confirm that the game's outcome was fair and unbiased.

Adding this technology to our site demonstrates our commitment to transparency and fairness in the crypto gambling industry. It empowers players to verify the integrity of the games they play, helping to build trust between our users and the casinos listed on BTCGOSU.

In essence, Provably Fair technology is a tool that gives players the ability to independently verify that the outcomes of the games they play are based on chance and not influenced by the casino. This level of transparency is essential for the credibility and integrity of the online gambling industry, especially in the context of cryptocurrencies where trust is paramount.

Where do you see the future of cryptocurrency going in the iGaming industry?
The future of cryptocurrency in the iGaming industry holds great potential. Cryptocurrencies have already made a significant impact by offering advantages such as faster transactions, enhanced security, and increased privacy for both players and operators. As regulatory frameworks continue to evolve and more players become comfortable with digital currencies, we expect to see the following developments:

Increased Adoption: Cryptocurrencies will likely become more widely accepted across iGaming platforms. More online casinos, sportsbooks, and other betting sites are likely to offer cryptocurrencies as a payment option.

Enhanced Privacy: Cryptocurrencies provide a higher level of anonymity compared to traditional payment methods. This privacy aspect will continue to attract players who value discretion in their online gambling activities.

Reduced Transaction Costs: Cryptocurrency transactions typically have lower fees compared to traditional banking methods. As iGaming operators look to reduce costs and offer better value to players, cryptocurrencies will become even more appealing.

Blockchain Technology: Blockchain technology will be leveraged for its transparency and security. It can be used to ensure the fairness of games, track the history of bets, and prevent fraud.

Innovative Games: Cryptocurrencies enable the creation of unique and innovative games that are not possible with fiat currencies. Blockchain-based games and decentralized applications (DApps) will continue to emerge.

Global Accessibility: Cryptocurrencies transcend geographical boundaries, allowing players from around the world to participate in iGaming platforms without the need for currency conversion or international transaction fees.

Regulatory Developments: As cryptocurrencies become more mainstream, regulatory bodies will establish clearer guidelines for their use in the iGaming industry. This will provide more legitimacy to the sector.

Player Education: Players will become more educated about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. This will lead to increased confidence and adoption. Overall, the future of cryptocurrency in the iGaming industry is bright, with continued growth and innovation expected. However, it will also be essential for the industry to address challenges related to regulation, security, and responsible gambling to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

You are very active on the GPWA Forums. What do you gain from interacting so often on the site?
The GPWA Forums are a valuable space for networking and learning in the evolving crypto gambling industry. It's a unique niche with limited comprehensive information, so sharing insights is essential.

What do you wish you knew when you started that you know now?
I wish I knew the importance of building strong industry connections. Adaptability and patience have also been key in this dynamic field.

How do you decide on which affiliate programs to work with? What have you learned over the years about picking and choosing the right affiliate programs for your sites?
Picking the perfect affiliate programs for BTCGOSU is a bit like choosing the right crypto to invest in – it requires careful consideration. Here's my crypto-savvy approach to this affiliate adventure:

Reputation and Trustworthiness: In the world of crypto and gambling, reputation is everything. I want to partner up with affiliate programs that are like the dependable old Bitcoin blockchain – they've got to be rock-solid and trustworthy. If they're known for fair play and cough up payments faster than Bitcoin's price changes, they make it to my shortlist.

Product Quality: I'm not about to promote just any run-of-the-mill gambling platform. I've got standards, like a crypto enthusiast inspecting smart contracts. I prefer affiliate programs that peddle top-notch online casinos and gambling platforms. If they're all about player safety and fair play, they've got a VIP pass to my selection process.

Support and Communication: Good communication and support are non-negotiable. I need affiliate programs that respond faster than a lightning network transaction and provide clear channels to address any questions or concerns. If they've got my back, they're on my radar.

Over the years, I've learned that nurturing strong, long-term relationships with trustworthy affiliate programs is the secret sauce for ongoing success. But, I also keep an eye out for industry shifts and emerging trends. In this ever-evolving crypto landscape, being adaptable is my superpower. Flexibility and a commitment to delivering value to my audience are my compass in the world of affiliate partnerships.

When you were growing up, what profession did you dream about getting into?
Growing up, I actually had a different dream in mind. I always imagined myself being self-employed and running a restaurant, cafe, or bar. However, life had other plans for me, and I found myself drawn into the world of cryptocurrency and online gambling. While my career path took an unexpected turn, I've discovered a passion for what I do now, and who knows, maybe someday I'll find a way to combine my entrepreneurial spirit with my initial dream.

What are your hobbies? What do you do when you are not working?
I delve into history, philosophy, psychology, and politics. Traveling is a passion too — there's always more to explore.

If someone were visiting you for 24 hours and had never been to the area where you live in Greece, where would you bring them and why?
We'd hit the promenade with the iconic White Tower (of Thessaloniki), dine in the lively Ladadika district, and if time allowed, escape to Chalkidiki's pristine beaches.

If you could invite any five people, living or dead, to dinner, who would they be?
Alexander the Great, Leonidas I, Socrates, Homer, and Satoshi Nakamoto. A historic, philosophical, and crypto-fueled feast!

Name three things that people reading this magazine don't know about you.
    1. I used to dominate StarCraft
    2. I prefer crypto over fiat,
    3. And, well, some mysteries are best left unsolved! (Laughs).
